When you’re not wearing your Pip-Boy you’ll want to be displaying it with pride in your display cabinet, on your desk at work, or beside your bed on your nightstand. To do that you’ll use the lovely stand that comes with the Pip-Boy 3000 Mk V.
The stand has been designed with care and attention to detail. Manufactured from a 4 mm slab of solid aluminium, the display-grade stand looks elegant yet will hold your Pip-Boy securely in position in your display cabinet, on your desk, or next to your bed on your nightstand. The ABS moulded features take advantage of the existing cable socket on the back of the Pip-Boy engaging with it without the need for additional holes or special connectors to give you a clean and secure mounting, while also providing a neat and tidy way to hold the cable plug at the back of the Pip-Boy.

The Pip-Boy is hand-weathered with a paint that simulates the build-up of dirt in the corners. The paint is not permanent and may be adjusted or removed using a paper towel or cloth damped with rubbing alcohol (or vodka or gin) without damaging the silver-painted surface. Do not use acetone or thinners as this will damage the underlying paint finish.

Due to a high level of demand, shipping will occur in waves and there will be separate shipping drops in November 2024, January 2025, and February 2025. Is the Pip-Boy 3000 Mk V accurate?
Yes. We designed the Pip-Boy 3000 Mk V for manufacture in the real world using the CAD geometry from the TV show prop … you couldn’t get more accurate than that.
How do I upgrade my Pip-Boy?
Periodically there may be important upgrades to your Pip-Boy that will add new features and functionality. Please go to www.thewandcompany.com/pip-boy to check for the latest update. The Pip-Boy must be connected to a computer via a web browser that supports Web Serial such as Chrome, Edge or Opera.
In order for you to successfully upgrade the Pip-Boy, the UDB-C plug must be fully plugged into the dongle socket. If it is partially plugged in then although it might charge, the data lines may not fully engage, and you will not be able to connect to your computer to upgrade it. It is recommended that you upgrade the Pip-Boy while it is docked to its stand. When placing the dongle USB-C socket in the stand socket holder, make sure you place the dongle so that the socket faces towards the Pip-Boy’s centre line so that when you push the USB-C plug into the socket, it can push in all way.
How do I reset my Pip-Boy?
In the event that your Pip-Boy becomes unresponsive and needs resetting, there’s a hidden reset button underneath one of the cuffs, inside the cuff area:
* To access it, remove the brown padded cuff from the screen side of the Pip-Boy.
* Near to the battery door screw, you’ll see a small hole.
* If you poke a thin, unfolded paper clip straight down into this hole, you should be able to feel the reset button click.
* (You probably won’t be able to reach the reset button with a mobile phone SIM card removal tool, as the button is 12mm (0.5″) inside the Pip-Boy.)
* Just a short click press of the reset button is enough – the Pip-Boy should then spring back into life within a few seconds.
How do I tighten my Pip-Boy catch if it is loose?
The Pip-Boy is secured on your arm and held closed by a sprung catch. Very occasionally the catch may feel loose or sometimes not stay latched when you close it. This could be due to the spring slightly stretching. The tolerances of the closing catch are very exact, so even a slight change in the spring bend radius could make the catch looser.
It is easy to make the catch tighter again. To adjust, open the catch and grip the spring part across the flat faces as near to the locking clip as possible. With your other hand push the end of the clip with your forefinger or thumb to increase the bend of the spring slightly. Don’t bend it too much, just a small reduction in the bend radius is all that is necessary to make it grip nice and tightly when you close it again.
Can I leave it plugged into the power constantly?
Yes, you can leave it plugged into the power constantly. When the Pip-Boy is plugged into the power the power runs the Pip-Boy and charges the battery at the same time. When the battery is fully charged, it stops charging the battery, and as the Pip-Boy is running on the external power supply, the battery only slowly loses power just by a trickle of self-discharge. This process takes a long time. Eventually, when the battery discharges to a certain level, it will start charging again until it is full, and the cycle repeats. The battery also has a built-in thermal cutout, which means the battery cannot overheat. So short answer, yes it is perfectly ok and safe to leave the Pip-Boy plugged in as it will not see significant cycles.
How do I tune my dongle fit to make it tighter?
If the dongle fit is not tight or becomes loose it can easily be tightened by wrapping a small amount of clear tape around the dongle prong. Only one half a turn or a full turn is necessary.
What is the Pip-Boy made from?
The Pip-Boy 3000 Mk V is made from an authentic blend of materials. The front portion of the device is made from die-cast metal, the back of the front half, and the back of the Pip-Boy is made from an engineering plastic called ABS, known for its strength and high fidelity. The cuff is moulded in memory foam, for comfort and in order to fit the widest number of different arm types.
The stand is made from predominantly aluminium, with some ABS fittings, and has a soft EVA rubber pad on the bottom.
How is the Pip-Boy weathered?

How big is the Pip-Boy and its Display Stand?
In the show, there are actually two different-sized Pip-Boys, a male and a slightly smaller female version. This Pip-Boy is modeled after the male version and its size is 150 x 140 x 120 mm (5.9″ x 5.5″ x 4.7″). The Display Stand is 170 x 115 x 90 mm (6.7″ x 4.5″ x 3.5″). When the Pip-Boy is docked into the stand the combined height of the Pip-Boy and Display Stand is 140 mm (5.5″).
What is the maximum wrist/forearm diameter the Pip-Boy can accommodate?
Pip-Boy internal cuff geometry is tapered. It is an exact replica of the cuff worn by the men in the TV show. The maximum arm accommodation sizes are:
With foam, wrist end: approx 200mm (7.9 inches) circumference
With foam, forearm: approx 260mm (10.2 inches) circumference
The Pip-Boy foam can be removed to provide more room for someone who wants to wear it over their Vault Suit cuff, or other jacket or shirt cuffs. The Pip-Boy may be worn on the arm with no cuff, however, if the Pip-Bpy is worn on a bare arm with no cuff it will certainly not be as comfortable as it is with the cuff installed correctly. Although it is not recommended, removing the cuff will accommodate larger arms.

What is the Pip-Boy Display Stand made from?
The majority of the Display Stand is made from a single 4 mm thick sheet of aluminium that has been machined and then bent into the required shape. It is perfectly balanced enabling it to stand on its own or rest securely when the Pip-Boy is docked into it. It has a soft rubber EVA pad on the underside of its base.
What kind of screen does it have?
A TFT LCD screen displaying in monochrome green.
What is the best way to display my Pip-Boy 3000 Mk V?
That’s up to you, and it depends on a number of things:
Do you have one or more arms?
If so, then, the ideal place to display your Pip-Boy is on your arm. It has a clock inside it which allows it to display the time moderately accurately on the screen in a totally in-universe way at all times just with the press of a button.
Do you have a desktop or Display Cabinet?
Well, you don’t have to look much further. This is not only a display grade collectible but also a functioning FM radio and a static timepiece (i.e. a clock); so display it wherever you want, using its beautiful aluminium stand
Are batteries included?
Yes. The Pip-Boy uses an internal Lithium Polymer power cell that is charged using a USB-C cable (supplied), via a 5V power supply.
Does the front of the device open to insert a holotape?
No, this Pip-Boy does not open. There is not enough space behind the screen to easily accommodate the necessary opening mechanism and the cavity needed for a holotape.
In the TV show, two different movie props were used, one with a working animated screen and one that opened with a non-functional screen.
